Curriculum Guide: Year 11
Year 11 students study the following core subjects; English, English Literature, maths, science (trilogy worth 2 GCSEs), RE and a Language or Humanity (history or geography). They also study two additional GCSE option choices and have core PE which takes the form of Recreational Options every Thursday week B periods 4 & 5, and PSHCE as part of their non-examined core curriculum. The following provides families and students with guidance on what the full academic year of learning looks like for each subject. It outlines what Year 11 students will be taught, the type of assessment that students will experience and any resources that they will need.
Year 11 also have an internal exam period of two weeks where full mock exams are sat in December, along with two sets of mock English and maths mock exams in November and February. These are the final opportunity for students to really fine tune their revision and exam technique in preparation for their final GCSE exams which start in May!
